Frequently Asked Questions
What is a cloth diaper insert?
An insert is the absorbent layer that goes inside a pocket cloth diaper. It's what actually soaks up moisture — the diaper shell on its own isn't absorbent. You stuff the insert into the pocket opening of the diaper before putting it on baby, and remove it before washing. Different inserts offer different levels of absorbency depending on your needs.
How many inserts do I need to start?
ost families start with 1–2 inserts per diaper. For a full-time stash of 6–8 diapers, 8–10 inserts is a good starting point — enough to rotate through wash days comfortably.
Do the pocket diapers come with inserts?
No, pocket diapers do not come with inserts included and are designed to work with various types of inserts, which can be added separately based on your needs.
Can I use other brands of inserts with these diapers?
Yes. Resnug™ pocket diapers are compatible with many standard cloth diaper inserts.
Will this insert fit other brands of pocket diapers?
Yes! The Resnug Insert is designed to fit all Resnug pocket diapers and is compatible with most standard-sized pocket diapers from other brands.
How do I wash bamboo terry inserts?
Machine wash warm, tumble dry low or line dry. Avoid fabric softener as it coats the fibers and reduces absorbency over time. If you notice odors building up, our EasyFizzy™ laundry reset tablets are a great monthly maintenance tool.
